About Me/Contact Me

She Runs, She Eats started in 2008 when I decided to join the foodie community. Sharing recipes, learning new skills, and meeting like-minded people seemed like a fun way to spend my free time! I thought of combining my love of running with my foodie side as a way to balance each other, so I became the Running Foodie.

I enjoy a variety of cuisines, and the recipes I create reflect this. I like creating memorable, tasty meals that are simple, but also like to challenge myself by making more complex dishes. Spending a quiet weekend baking in the kitchen is one of my favorite things to do. When I'm not baking or cooking, I spend free time perusing cookbooks, blogs, and recipe sites, and think up my own recipes.

It's a preconceived idea that runners can eat whatever they want, and perhaps it seems like I do on my blog thanks to the number of sweets I whip up; in reality, I strive for a healthy balance. Food fuels us and gives us the energy we need to get through the day, which is why I strive to make nutrient-rich foods the majority of what I eat. However, here will always be a place for treats! If you're struggling to eat healthy, make sure the food you're making is very flavorful. You'll satisfy your taste buds and won't need to eat as much to reach the your flavor quotient.

Little bro and I discussing our plan of action before the start of a race

I began running before I started blogging. The ease of running is what appeals to me the most - simply lace up your shoes and head out the door. I'm beginning to take a more serious approach to my running by training in a way to improve my times and placements a races.
